Acceptance of these terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Atten mobile app and the Atten website (together, the “Service”), provided by Softisia (“Softisia”, “we”, “us”). By downloading, installing or using Atten, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The service
Atten is an attendance register, class routine and marks app. Teachers can keep sections and roll lists, take attendance (including from a roll list and with excused leave), record marks, plan a weekly routine with reminders, view attendance statistics and export reports. Students can keep their routine, their own attendance and their marks. Atten works offline and stores your data only on your device.
Atten is provided free of charge. There are no ads, subscriptions or in-app purchases.
Licence to use Atten
Subject to these Terms, Softisia grants you a personal, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use Atten on devices you own or control, for your personal use.
You may not: sell, rent or sublicense the app; copy, modify or create derivative works of it except as allowed by law; reverse engineer it except where the law expressly permits; remove our branding or notices; or use the app in a way that breaks any law.
Your data and backups
- Everything you enter into Atten belongs to you (or to your institution, under its rules) and is stored only on your device.
- Because Softisia does not receive or store your data, we cannot recover it if it is lost: for example if you uninstall the app, clear its storage, reset or lose your phone, or delete your data in Settings.
- You are responsible for keeping backups. Use Settings → Data → Backup & restore regularly and store the file somewhere safe and private.
- Backup files are not encrypted. Keep them private and only restore files you trust.
Records and calculations
Atten is a record-keeping tool. Attendance percentages, totals, thresholds, estimated grades and other figures are calculated from the information you enter and the settings you choose (for example whether late or excused sessions count). They are provided for convenience and are only as accurate as the data entered.
Atten is not an official record system of any school, college, university or examination board. Where official attendance or results are required, follow your institution’s procedures and check important figures before relying on them.
Reminders and notifications
Reminders depend on your phone’s notification and alarm settings, battery optimisation, operating-system behaviour and the permissions you grant. We work hard to make them reliable, but we cannot guarantee that every reminder will be delivered on time. Do not rely on Atten as your only reminder for exams, official deadlines or other critical events.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to break any law, to infringe anyone’s rights, or to interfere with or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or its infrastructure. When you record information about other people (for example students’ names, attendance, notes or marks), you are responsible for handling it lawfully, respectfully and in line with your institution’s rules, and for sharing reports only with people entitled to see them.
Intellectual property
The Atten name, logo, icon, design, illustrations, text and software are owned by Softisia or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. These Terms do not give you any rights to them except the licence described above. Feedback you send us may be used to improve Atten without obligation to you.
Voluntary support (donations)
Atten is free. You may choose to support Softisia through the “Support Softisia” / “Support softisia” buttons, which take you to our page on Support Kori (supportkori.com). Donations are entirely voluntary, do not unlock features or create any obligation for Softisia to provide additional services, and are processed by Support Kori and its payment partners under their own terms. Except where required by law, donations are non-refundable; contact us if you believe a donation was made by mistake.
Third-party services and links
Atten is distributed through Google Play. Your use of Google Play is governed by its own terms. The app and website contain links to third-party websites (such as Support Kori, softisia.com and social networks). We are not responsible for the content, policies or practices of third-party services.
Updates and availability
We may update Atten to add features, fix problems or improve security, and some updates may be required to keep using the app. We may change, suspend or discontinue the app or website at any time. Because your data is stored on your device, discontinuing the Service would not delete data already on your phone.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of data loss.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Softisia and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue or savings, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including missed reminders, lost records or decisions made based on figures shown in the app.
Because Atten is provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service (which is zero) or BDT 1,000. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Softisia against claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
Termination
You can stop using Atten at any time by uninstalling it. We may terminate the licence above if you breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers and limitations of liability) will survive.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Bangladesh, unless the consumer laws of your country of residence give you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Effective” date. If a change is significant, we will give notice in the app or on the website. Continuing to use Atten after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
